About the Photographer
Biography
Hello! Thank you for stopping by this portion of my website to get to know me, the photographer, a little better!Â
My name is Jessica (the Jes in Jes Shoot Me Photography!) and I was born and raised in Delaware. Most of my school years were spent at Milford Christian School in Milford, De. That is where my love of photography began! My first camera I ever received was a Canon film camera. (I feel like I'm starting to show my age here...) It was a lot of trial and error with that camera but I used it throughout my high school years to enter into the Delaware Association of Christian Schools competitions where I took home professional awards. During that time I was only into nature or landscape style photography. My senior year was when I met my now husband at the DACS competition where he was with a rival school. As for John and I, the rest is history! We got married and started a beautiful family. Photography was kinda on the back burner though because of life. We were having kids and joining the Air Force family. While my husband was at tech school for the Air Force, he surprised me with my first ever digital camera, the Canon Rebel T2i. It was exactly what I needed at that time to spark my interest into photography again! This time though I was Photographing my kids and it was still just a hobby for me. Fast forward 6 years and 7 children later, my husband decided to surprise me while he was deployed in Germany with a camera upgrade, the Sony A6000. I was having way too much fun with this new mirrorless camera and posting photos of my (now 8 of them) kids on social media, that people began asking me to photograph their family. It wasn't until 2017 when my husband and sister in law were really persuasive with their suggestions of starting my own photography business. So I did....and this unexpected journey began!Â
I now enjoy photographing families, maternity, newborn, children and portraits....and even pets. Allow me the opportunity to capture those priceless memories for you and your family.
